The smile in her eyes

As I did this artwork in spring 2023, I thought about the friendship between these two girls, whom I photographed several years ago. I was fascinated by capturing the playful and intimate dance they shared during that hour of shooting. This is a collage from the "A Disappearing Dance" series. It explores the form of dance and the emotions it evokes. Two girls, close friends, intertwine in a dance. Discreteness is embedded in the very essence of the action. Each movement, each intersection of hands and legs is momentary. The girls' figures have become an abstraction. This piece will be a great addition to any contemporary art collection or one that explores human emotions. It's a good conversation starter that encourages viewers to reflect on their own emotional experiences.
